Peripherals & Bluetooth Settings
CollabOS devices can be set up in-room using on-device CollabOS Settings, or remotely using Local Network Access (LNA). This provides the flexibility to configure your devices in person or remotely. On-Device CollabOS Settings To view the Peripherals menu: On Logitech Tap or Tap IP go to CollabOS Settings This step may vary depending on your selected service provider Touch Peripherals The Peripherals menu is organized into two sub-sections: Wired devices and Wireless devices. Touch one or the other to see a list of connected peripherals The list of peripherals provides information such as the peripheral type and connection status. Touch a listed peripheral device for more information, such as firmware or CollabOS version, and options to unpair some wireless peripherals (e.g. a Remote Control) Local Network Access Settings To view the Peripherals menu: If necessary, enable Local Network Access (LNA) Log into Local Network Access (LNA) using your web browser Navigate to Peripherals The Peripherals menu is organized into two sub-sections: Wired devices and Wireless devices. The list of peripherals provides information such as the peripheral type and connection status Click a listed peripheral device for more information, such as firmware or CollabOS version, and options to unpair some wireless peripherals (e.g. a Remote Control). Bluetooth Settings CollabOS devices that support a remote control use Bluetooth for pairing. Similarly, Logitech Spot can pair to a CollabOS device using Bluetooth. If you need to disable Bluetooth in your room setup, this will also disable remote control and Spot functions. 1. On Logitech Tap or Tap IP go to “System Settings” 2. Touch “Connectivity” 3. Touch “Bluetooth”. This will toggle Bluetooth on or off. 4. Touch “Back to settings” to return to the main settings menu. Bluetooth is now disabled on your device. Note: When using RoomMate, the above will disable the Bluetooth only on RoomMate. If the connected device (such as MeetUp or Rally) has Bluetooth, you will need to disable Bluetooth on that device separately. 1.4 Local Network Access (LNA)
Local Network Access is available for Rally Bar, Rally Bar Mini, Rally Bar Huddle, RoomMate, Tap IP, and Tap Scheduler on CollabOS 1.6 or higher. Here is what you need to get started: The device must have an Ethernet connection (recommended) or Wi-Fi connection with a valid IP address. Your computer must have a compatible web browser that can access the device IP address through the network. Be sure the device and computer using Local Network Access are on the same IP address and subnet range. Set up your device using the Room Solutions Configuration Guide. Changes with CollabOS 1.12 Update CollabOS 1.12 introduces a change to the default state of Local Network Access (LNA). For new installations with CollabOS 1.12 or greater, LNA will be disabled by default. For added security, if a device’s default LNA password has not been changed within 48 hours of activating the LNA feature, the system will automatically disable LNA. Existing devices that upgrade to CollabOS 1.12 and have LNA enabled with the default password, will have LNA disabled after 48 hours. Notes: For security reasons, Local Network Access is disabled by default. If the room setup includes two or more IP-based devices (for example, Rally Bar and Tap IP), LNA has to be enabled on each device individually. As of CollabOS 1.8, FQDN (fully qualified domain name) support is now available to access Local Network Access. With this feature, when LNA on a CollabOS device is enabled, you can access it by typing "https://hostname" in the address line. When the hostname is changed, you need to reboot the device to trigger DNS update. CollabOS 1.13 adds supports Web Server Certificates. Learn more. Enable LNA Once Local Network Access is enabled, the device will be discoverable on the local network. During Device New Setup New device setup is only supported on a wired network. 1. For Rally Bar, Rally Bar Mini, Rally Bar Huddle, MeetUp 2 and RoomMate, press and hold the ↺ button on the back of the device for 8 seconds and then release. 2. For Rally Bar, Rally Bar Mini, and RoomMate connected to Logitech Tap: Turn on the device, and on the first screen, toggle Local Network Access and view the credentials. 3. For Tap IP and Tap Scheduler, turn on the device and on the first screen, toggle Local Network Access and take note of the credentials. 4. In the address bar of the web browser, type the full URL (with https://), along with the IP address of the device [https://x.x.x.x]. The browser may indicate an untrusted certificate or display a message such as “This Connection Is Not Private.” This is because the device provides a self-signed root certificate to the browser that is unique to Logitech devices. Verify that the IP address entered is the device IP address shown on the “Settings” screen. 5. Acknowledge the warning and continue to the Local Network Access website. Web browsers will provide an option to “Proceed anyway” to access the website. For Chrome on macOS, the “Proceed anyway” option is not shown. Workaround: There's a secret passphrase built into the Chrome error page. Make sure the page is selected (click anywhere on the screen,) then type “thisisunsafe” and press Return. Note: Make sure the IP address of the CollabOS device is accessible from the computer on your network. Check with your network admin if the device IP address is not accessible. 6. When the login screen opens, enter the credentials as provided by the CollabOS device during Local Network Access setup. Default username: admin Default password: Last five digits of the device hostname Note: On 10 consecutive failed attempts, the device will disable Local Network Access. If this happens, you will need to reactivate the feature. With CollabOS 1.12 For added security, if a device’s default LNA password has not been changed within 48 hours of activating the LNA feature, the system will automatically disable LNA. 7. Set a new password. A new password is required to use Local Network Access. This can be updated later from the Sync portal, the device, or from Local Network Access settings 8. Complete the new device setup with the following sections: Region These include settings like language, location, and time zone. This article covers the topic of firmware updates for Microsoft Teams Certified releases for CollabOS devices. This only applies to Teams Rooms on Android and Teams Panels. In the latest update to Logitech Sync, we’re offering an easy way to ensure that CollabOS devices are running the latest Microsoft Teams Certified releases for the Teams Rooms on Android and Teams Panels solutions. Teams Certified Releases in Teams Admin Center Microsoft Certified CollabOS releases are going through additional testing by the Microsoft team, and will be posted on the Teams Admin Center. After the release has gone through testing and published to Teams Admin Center, it will be called Teams certified releases. It will show up as a firmware update with a badge “Verified by Microsoft” in the Teams Admin Center. Learn more about Teams Certified releases for Logitech Teams Rooms devices Learn more about Teams Certified releases for Logitech Teams Panels devices Teams Certified Update Channel in Sync Previously, it was hard for administrators to know what CollabOS version was Teams Certified. Logitech Sync administrators can now assign their devices to use the Teams Certified update channel, called Production (Teams) in Logitech Sync. Devices on this channel will be provided with the latest CollabOS versions certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android and Teams Panels. Sync admins who use custom update channels can select Teams Certified CollabOS versions. Now, the list of available CollabOS updates will include a Microsoft Teams badge which signifies the certification status of each update. Device Onboarding To ensure that the CollabOS devices are updated to the latest Teams Certified release, devices must be assigned to the Production (Teams) channel in Sync, before any firmware updates. If a CollabOS device is updated before it is assigned to the Production (Teams) channel, it may have to wait for the next Teams Certified release to align with the latest one. During device onboarding, we recommend skipping updates; instead, update the device after it has been provisioned to the Teams Certified update channel in Logitech Sync. How to Update First, provision the CollabOS device into Logitech Sync and then assign CollabOS devices to the Production (Teams) channel. If the Production (Teams) channel isn’t visible, you may need to unhide it in settings. Learn more on the Production (Teams) channel Once your devices are provisioned and assigned to the Teams Certified channel, they will now see the latest CollabOS version certified by Microsoft. Logitech CollabOS devices undergo frequent updates, introducing major new features and enhancements. Over time, these updates fundamentally transform the capabilities of a CollabOS device. We employ various quality validation processes, methodologies, and rigorous testing protocols to ensure reliability while frequently adding new functionalities. CollabOS 1.12 introduced a staggered rollout process for CollabOS software updates. This approach is an industry best practice used to ensure a smooth rollout across a global footprint of devices. The following is an outline of this CollabOS software rollout process. Please note: The timing and cadence of each rollout phase may vary based on the telemetry and feedback we receive. We'll likely adjust these parameters after each release. Major CollabOS releases (1st business day) Once a major CollabOS update is promoted to production from the public beta channel, it will be available to a random 10% of the device's Sync install base. (3rd business day) Pending validation results, we will expand access to a random 25% of the device's Sync install base. (5th business day) Pending validation results, we will expand access to a random 60% of the device's Sync install base. (7th business day) Pending validation results, we will expand access to 100% Sync and non-Sync provisioned devices. Minor CollabOS releases (1st day) Once a minor CollabOS update is promoted to production from the public beta channel, it will be available to a random 25% of the device's Sync install base. (3rd day) Pending validation results, we will expand access to 100% Sync and non-Sync provisioned devices. Additional things to note: The U.S. calendar determines business days. During the staggered rollout period, each Sync organization will be limited to 20 rooms receiving the update. The cadence and sequence above is a general outline that will adapt as needed. In cases of an urgent issue (’hot fix’), we may either shorten or bypass this process altogether. If we detect an anomaly during a rollout, we will either pause or retract the build. Release notes will be updated to reflect the release's status. During the staggered rollout phase, updates will only be available to devices provisioned to Sync. This allows us to ensure we’re distributing the update to a specific number of devices and configurations. Devices not provisioned to Sync will receive updates only after the release exits the staggered rollout phase. This includes updates viewed through device Settings and the Sync desktop app. CollabOS updates will be submitted to management platforms like Teams Admin Center or ZDM once the full rollout has commenced. The staggered rollout process does not apply to partner app updates unless there is a minimum CollabOS requirement. The public beta channel does not follow a staggered rollout process. Any CollabOS update posted to this channel will be immediately available to all CollabOS devices. If a device is assigned to a custom channel and set to a software release currently undergoing a staggered rollout, the device's ability to receive an update remains unaffected.
